I figured it was time for a little wedding update since it has already been 5 months since Jon and I got engaged! Where on Earth has the time gone?! The one thing I have learned as a bride is, you have to do your research. Before I decided to say yes to the dress, I did numerous amounts of research on Bridal Salons in the Raleigh, NC area. There are so many different places to go and I had no idea where to start my search!
The first thing I did was pull up good ole’ Facebook and ask my friends where they went. (Word of mouth will always be the best way to get honest information from people you trust.) Once I had a few targets, I went on their websites to see what designers they carried. I did some searching on each designer’s website and found which ones I liked and narrowed down my search to two bridal salon’s that seemed to fit my personality. I was able to get an appointment at each place for the same day so the Bride Tribe and I made a marathon day out of it!
Let me just tell you, all bridal salons are NOT created equal! I won’t share the name of the other place that I did not really connect with, but I will share my extremely positive experience at Coastal Knot. Being in fashion, I have almost dreaded the obligation to find “the dress.” I mean, do you know me? I love all of them for different reasons… 🙂 Since I knew I could only pick one, the pressure was on.
First of all, if you are the type of bride that loves unique dresses that are romantic and whimsical, Coastal Knot needs to be your first stop. The great news is, they have multiple locations, one in Cameron Village (Raleigh), Shallotte, and Wilmington. I was in love as soon as I walked in, taking in all of the beautiful dresses, shoes, and accessories. They treated us all like queens and really gave me that “bridal experience” I was looking for. I ended up choosing the second dress I tried on, which totally surprised me! I think I knew it was “the one” when I was comparing every other dress I tried on to that one.
I went back a couple of weeks later to actually order the dress because I wanted time to think it over, this time bringing a special guest, my Dad. Sometimes you have to let the Dad get a sneak peek so we aren’t both a complete blubbering mess the day of the wedding. (haha) The girls at Coastal Knot were so completely amazing, letting me try the dress on again and helping me with all of my questions about ordering, alterations, etc.
If you are in Raleigh, Wilminton, or Shallotte, NC, I highly recommend you making an appointment at Coastal Knot. There is no better place to go and have your wedding gown dreams come true… even if it’s just to try on a super fun princess gown…. which I mayyyyyyy have done! 🙂
This post is in no way sponsored, just wanted to share for those of you that may be about to go through the dress process. If you ladies have any questions, do not hesitate to ask!
