I find this time of the year the most difficult, when it comes to my wardrobe.  You know, that dreaded time when everything in stores is already Fall/Winter but it is still 100º outside?  If you live in the South, you know exactly what I mean.  I am wearing one of my favorite Summer tunics from SheIn, above, to show you how I would start my Fall transition.  I also decided to share 3 basic tips with you on how to transition to Fall with Summer clothes!

1 | Throw on some booties.

BOOTY, BOOTY, BOOTY, BOOTY ROCKIN’ EVERYWHERE….. Okay, whoa guys.  Sorry for that completely unexpected dance party, wrong booty.  Booties are the absolute perfect shoe for Fall.  You can wear them with your summer dresses, shorts, skirts, and have a totally new look.  A lot of the new styles even have fun designs and cut-outs so your feet can breathe.

2 | Transition your accessories.

Another great and inexpensive way to start the transition to Fall clothing is through your accessories.  Probably my favorite new way to do that is through hats.  I wasn’t much of a hat lady growing up but I have really learned to love them.  Trade out your straw beach hat for a more substantial version made of wool or felt!  Another option is to take your neon tassel earrings and put them away for now and try more earthy jewelry.  As always, scarves are also a great option as well for Fall fun.

3 | Layer, Layer, LAYER.

As the months move forward, we will be freezing in the morning, sweating in the afternoon, and cold again at night.  Layering light pieces together makes it easier to stay comfortable throughout the day.  Add a scarf in the morning and at night with a slouchy cardigan, but shed it around lunch time.  Learning how to dress for the weather is probably the hardest part of this transition.

SheIn is a great online retailer to shop at for all of your transitional pieces because of the great selection and even better pricing!  I picked out some of my favorites from my wishlist for you below, including this Chloe dupe that is under $30!!!!

I was on my way to a night out with some other friends so I wanted something sleek, straight, and a little bit edgy.  My stylist came up with some ideas and I was sold on a fun side braid to keep my hair out of my face!  They used Bumble & Bumble products to style and finish off the look.  I was so impressed with the products they used that I have plans to purchase them the next time I stop in.  By the way, how fab is that braid?!  I felt ultra sassy!

I found this dress at my local LOFT store and fell in love!  The top is a casual tank and it is matched with a very silky gunmetal midi skirt.  So fun, comfortable, and absolutely perfect for these hot summer nights.  I threw in some old blingy accessories and some red lips to keep the edgy look.  Okay, so its not leather… or punk.  But totally edgy for this conservative girl!

We laughed, drank, and had a number of spontaneous dance parties in the salon.  After all was said and done, we each went our separate ways…  Click the links above to see where the other girls were off to!

I can’t wait to go back to try out their new eyelash extensions and spray tans!  It’s pretty safe to say that I will probably be back very soon with these girls as well.  We had a blast and looked amazing for our events.  That’s a win-win in my book!  A big thank you to Parlor Blow Dry Bar North Raleigh for hosting us… cheers!

Over the past two months I have been working with a company that is near and dear to my heart, Headbands of Hope.  I often use this blog as a platform to share some of my favorite companies and outfits, but this is more than an outfit post.  This post is meant to share awareness for a company that is providing positivity to thousands of children who were dealt a bad hand in an already dark and twisted world.

I do not know anyone on this earth that has not felt the effects of Cancer in some way, shape, or form.  I have watched those I love fight for their lives… sometimes they win and sometimes they don’t.  The one thing that remains the same in each of them is positivity and power to survive.  For families of those with Cancer, you know the feeling of helplessness.  The only thing you can offer is a hand to hold, a laugh, and a smile to keep them going in the midst of the struggle.

The reason why I am choosing to promote this company is not because of how they look on my head or how well they may go with my outfit, but because of what they stand for.  (Although they do look pretty good with my outfits…)

For every headband purchased, one headband is given to a child with Cancer.

Headbands of Hope provides a positive impact in our world and choose to use their power for good.  We need more companies like this in the world and I am proud to support them!  You will be seeing them here and there in my posts.  I encourage you to check out their site and see how you can bring a smile to a child’s day.
